Affordable Wedding Photography

I want to start off this post by saying that when it comes to photography and weddings there is no such thing as truly cheap wedding photography. If you are looking for a photographer and the price seems too good to be true then unfortunately, it usually isn't. One of two things usually will happen, the first being; the initial price offered will rise with add-ons here and there. These can be all manner of things including incurring costs for having half colour and half black and white, extra prints, albums etc. the list goes on. The other is that the price turns out to be low, great, but also the photographs are of low quality. You can well imagine the heartache of the happy could once returned from honeymoon, all excited and eager to see their pictures only to find a hodgepodge of out of focus photos, missing heads and legs et cetera.

It isn't true in all cases that what you pay for you get, or don't as the case may be, but you can take steps to ensure that the price you are paying is reflected in the end product you receive. Follow these five simple steps to avoid suffering where so many have before.

1. Do you know anyone who has used the photographer before? Word of mouth is the best advertisement so if people you know and trust recommend something as a rule of thumb you can generally be confident to investigate further.

2. Are there any examples of recent weddings the photographer has shot that you can see? Old Father Time gets us all in the end and sometimes with photographers it is hard to admit that the eye isn't what it used to be.

3. Are pricing structures outlines in a clear and concise way? See above for the downfalls of add-ons.

4. Check the photographers' credentials and background? Where did they study? If self taught how long have they been in the business.

5. Do they shoot all weddings personally? Never book a photographer who out sources work. Some studios have more than one photographer which is fine but make sure that you meet the actual person who is shooting your wedding at least twice before the day.

If you would like to ask me any questions about any aspects of wedding photography from costing to styles get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
