I started taking photographs in the early 80’s, inspired by the work of photo journalist greats such as Robert Capa, Henri Cartier Bresson as well as Richard Avedon. Instead of pursuing a career in photography I decided to work in the music industry, which was followed by digital media before setting up as a professional photographer.
My aim is simple; to produce elegant and uncontrived photographs, avoiding gimmicks. Whether the work is wedding or music, corporate or lifestyle, my goal is to produce work which will stand the test of time and look classic in years to come.
Over the past few years my work has been published in variety of wedding magazines such as Perfect Wedding, Cosmopolitan Bride, Your Surrey Wedding and Wedding Ideas amonst others. My non-wedding work has been published in newspapers including The Telepgraph, The Observer, The Guardian, The Daily Mail and The Daily Star.
I have studied fashion photography and studio lighting at London College of Communications, a faculty of London University of the Arts. I am also a full time member, and hold accreditations from the MPA (Master Photographic Association) and the SWPP/BPPA (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers/British Professional Photographers Associates).
I also work as a freelance photographer and am a contributor to the news agencies Rex Features and Retna. If you are interested you can find out more about my corporate and PR work by visiting www.londonphotoevents.co.uk or my music editorial work at www.rahimlive.com
